I'm soooo happy about the revolver/lever split too! My husband (Chad) has a Marlin 45 so luckily we can switch back and forth if one breaks. Looks like we might be getting a midwest group to caravan out to TN next year, so keep that shoot in mind (along with Border Wars, of course).
I inherited my dad's Marlin .44 mag. Let's just say he wasn't the best at ever cleaning it so it needed a lot of work. We did most of it, but we needed to make it chamber the rounds better so I had the gunsmith cut it to 16" when he worked on it (it's lovely!!). Carrier issues midway through the year, but that's really common with the Marlins so I replaced it. Then it jammed again after a few shoots and there were some rough spots inside we had smoothed out. I think it should be good now! I love rifle - especially when you beat the guys. I'm still bad at it but it's so much fun to not care if you miss. Anything can happen during a rifle run. What a rush! I won't shoot it as much this year since there isn't a ladies class (going against men's level 5's and 6's isn't worth the entry fees all the time), but I'll still run to make the boys nervous every now and again.
My rifle busted twice this year so hopefully I finally have all the required smoothing and gunsmithing done too. That's great that you will have a full class, but that BITES about losing your wins!! Strange rule there. Winning the CMSA survey is motivating me to get my butt outta the state next year. Hope to see you at Border Wars at least, but maybe even a few others too!
I drew the picture.. As for moving to seniors I just had to do it.... I don't have the relfexes & the flexibilty that the younger girls have. It only made since for me to move to the senoirs. It doesn't mean that the competition isn't tough, it just means that we are all on a more level playing field. LOL
Connie,
Check out the newmsa.com website. The rules, courses, fees etc are all posted. We are in the process of re-vamping the site (thanks to Frank Turben) and there are a few minor errors here and there that we are slowly getting corrected. If you have anymore questions, let me know. You can email me directly at skyridge@acsol.net. I check that one or my facebook more than this one.
