New Job

So, I took a job in Houston. Away from house and horse. Looking for something to do, stay out of trouble.
I'm not really a city boy, having trouble getting used to the noise. Allright I may never get used to it. I just hope to tolerate it for the duration.

Happy Trails

So, got laid off. It really sucks, but I have been spending plenty time trimming and cleaning up the trails at the homestead. Gizmo is learning to side pass, and I'm working on leg cues. Riding every day helps a lot in that regard.

Shadow's foal

Yeah, Shadow had her foal last night. When they got there for morning feeding ... there it was.
I was having health issues with Gizmo, and bought her in September. Then the economy, elections, cut backs from hell hit and I was forced to sell her. At least Angela is keeping her at the Homestead. I'll update with better photos later.

Small world! She's married to my brother Wallace. They play and sing in a folk/cajun/bluegrass band. Do you go by any other first name besides Pops?

Yep, getting laid off is really a bummer! Hopefully they'll get really busy and need me back. I plan on riding alot until I either go back or find something else. Who are you working for in Houston?

I was laid off last monday. I was a vet tech. for an equine vet. Summer is usually slow, but this summer was the worst. It's hard for some people to have animals these days and the bills have to get payed before the animals get treated I guess.
The offer to practice with us still stands when your'e not in Houston.

Hey Pops, I saw your comments on Marty's Minion's and noticed your from Baton Rouge. I lived in B.R. for about 10 yrs. I'm in Breaux Bridge and shoot with Blazun Cajun's. I've been shooting for only about 10 mos. and love it. If you ever want any one to practice with we can let you know when we do.

3 inch barrels 400.00 ea. Just figured I'd give ya the cell cause Mike don't type much. Which is why he don't post much and I hate having to type for him. :0/ If someone wants 'em, fine. If no one does, fine. Have figured since I like them for ground that if we do shoot ground this year I'll use them since they get really pissed if you use the drop hammers. NO sense of humor. You should also check gunbroker. Have seen deals there and some great bidding wars.

I see you got laid off, too. I lasted til July. Sure is nice having the summer to ride, but not the money to do much. I have a little put away to shoot a few more times, especially want to go to the Easterns. You going there? Good luck to all of us out of work!

That's a good looking baby. Sorry you made the trip to Lafayette for nothing.

Practice, who needs practice? Nah! Just joking! Every damn chance we can. Either at my place or at Ken Bacque Memorial Arena behind Cowboys. I was in the consession stand earlier talking to some people that was in charge of the consession and then went to Marty's RV. We did see a white Dodge PU turn around nearby and drove off. Was that you? Would you like to practice with us, if so give me your # and I'll be glad to call u. Mine is 337-319-1339.

I understand that you came to Lafayette to see the shoot even though it was cancelled due to weekend rain. I also heard that you knocked on the door of a RV and a man looking like Col. Sanders answered the door wearing some leather thongs with conchos. That must have been a site. I can only guess of one person, it must be Marty selling his men's underwear for cash to make it to Bracketville, Tx.
