Well you beat me to it LOL. By the time we make it back to Indiana to shoot, you'll be kicking some butt. Good luck girl!

Well we'll have to set up a practice day, and you guys can get started. Once you start it becomes an addiction. The mounted shooters are your best coaches. That's the way Zombie and I learned. Just watch and listen. They wont steer you wrong. It was hard when I started, because I had to translate the lessons I got from the shooters into something a gaited horse to understand.

Hey your from Coatesville too. I'm just a few miles out of town. I sure didn't know there was any other mounted shooters around here. What area are you in. From your pics it looks like you have gaited horses, and there's nothing wrong with that. I shoot off a Walking Horse. I don't think I've met you. I might have though at some time.....:)

I started last year. The best way is just go out there and do it. Start slow
and then pick up the speed as you better about yourself. Take time with
your horse. Remember he is learning to. My horse likes it almost as much as I do. Don't give up you will get better in time. There are people in your club that will help you. Best of luck.

Trying to get Buddy started !!

I have taken a small step towards getting ready for shooting. I put all of the horses in their stalls, and fead them. Then I attached about 25 balloons to the fencing around our hay, and shot them with my airsoft gun. There was little reaction from the geldings, and just a few snorts from my mare. I think that went well. Later I am going to tie balloons all around their pasture and just let them stay there for a while, letting them get used to that.
Wish me luck !!
