World is way out of budget. I missed you guys at the Easterns. What happened to ya? I asked Rosco (James), and he didn't know, he just knew that Jim had to work that weekend. It's nice to hear that you keep your eyes open now. That should really help you in your hitting the balloons. I've fell in a hole shooting wise, and I can't seem to get out of it right now. I have a fetish with only hitting 9. I couldn't believe it I had two stages down in Tennessee where I missed 4 balloons a stage. So I couldn't shoot worth a darn, Zombie was sick as dog, and on a good stage we always ran 2 seconds behind the leader in our class. Zombie was up against a Kenda student, that rode a Kenda horse, and he just couldn't stand up to it. Well and the 35 seconds in penalties we acquired didn't help either. Zombie is just gonna have to stick to the small arenas. He don't have enough stride to hold up in these big ones. Zombie got so sick that I was going to pull from the Colt. My friend Jeff Fraizer let me barrow his little paint horse, Jazz. I'm not sure if you'll remember Jeff. He was the one that played ping pong with Denny at the Mid west Classic. I actually made it back to the second round, and finished 12th overall, so just out of the showcase, and I was 3rd in my division, so just out of the money. We did so horrible down there, and I felt really bad. We have been in a slump lately, and hopefully I can find my way out. Maybe I need some tights????:)
Yeah, just keep your eyes open, and watch them die. Zombie and I won another buckle at the Mid West Regional this weekend. We got the Ladies Limited buckle. I also won $33 in the eliminator, and a bridle bag for winning my class. I got 28th overall with 15 seconds in penalties. Zome ran good all weekend again. I just need to hit the darn balloons. KEEP WEARIN' THOSE TIGHTS......:)
When Zombie and I started shooting, Zombie was worse than that. Instead of going every direction, he just locked up in the middle of a pattern, most time he wouldn't even go into the arena. It really started to click with him at the '08 Indy State Championship. It's like he just got it all of the sudden. Were you guys planing on going to Amarillo this year? I don't think we will have near the money it takes to go this year either. I know that Jim (Rosco, or Jim 2) said that he was going as a 1 this year. It seemed like most Level 1s are not competitive at all. That is one reason why Zombie and I did so well. You were my toughest competition ever. That should make you feel good. Most people I shot against didn't seem to care at all, and just cantered through the pattern missing every other balloon. Main thing is determination it seems. I was determined to get Zombie running right, and now that he is I can focus on my shooting more. I'm sure your horse will come around, it just takes a lot of time and work. Tell everyone I said hi. Indiana is still recovering from the last visit from you Illinois people. lol So maybe Cheerleading camp was a good thing. :)
We are going up to Albion, IN for a shoot this weekend. I just got my video of the Mid West Classic. It is so cool, but I haven't figured out a way to pot it. It keeps saying that is to large of a file to upload. I just got back from a 15 mile canoe trip today, and I'm a little tired, luckily there was water in the river this year. I heard that they are talking about another shoot in Cloverdale this year. There is an open weekend in November. All the clubs are supposed to come together to do a big shoot there, but there is nothing set ins tone yet. If you had a class you could move up in one weekend, if it was 2 one day shoots. Keep practicing, and if all else fails, you can get a couple wins at the Easterns. Marty says that they are having a 1 day Grand Am in the Miller Coliseum before the Easterns. I think he said it was on Tuesday. That might give you a win, then you can get your second at the Easterns. I know you'll win, if you can keep your eyes open. You almost beat me at the Classic. I got my first Ladies Reserve Overall at Celina last weekend. I would have got overall if I didn't miss my one balloon. Joyce McKinney got the Ladies Overall. I was so proud of Zombie.
Zombie did very well for the dentist. You better make a Level 2 before the Easterns. I'll be waitin' on you. I don't see tiger stripes on Wyatt, but he might grow into them. That would be neat. Only people who were tights would go to cheerleading camp instead of to a shoot...:)
How have you been lately? I've been working my butt off with my mom in the wrecker trying to make money to shoot. I haven't had much time between that and training horses lately. I miss you guys up there in Illinois. We will have to make it over there for a shoot this year. Then too if we can't then I'll see you at the Easterns. By that time hopefully you'll be a 2, and we'll compete again. If you would keep your eyes open you probably could be a 5. he he. Zombie and I are rearing to go shooting again. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Hey Cassie have you made a level 2 yet. I took a couple weekends off shooting to do a couple of nearby parades. There was a couple of tight wearing endurance riders at one of them that we rode with. Wyatt is getting big fast. He is starting to turn colors. He is more grullo now than black. He has dark stripe down his back. I hope he stays grullo that would be so neat. He might tun out dun or chocolate. His mother is a colored kind of like a traditional Rocky Mountain. Zombie is not going to like me for a while the horse dentist is coming out today to work on his teeth. I don't know if he has ever had them done before, but it should be a treat.
