
WESTERN SHOOTING HORSE RECEIVES TWO HONORS AT 2009 AMERICAN HORSE PUBLICATIONS AWARDS DINNER
TIJERAS, NM. – Western Shooting Horse Magazine took home two awards on Saturday, June 27 at the American Horse Publications (AHP) Annual Awards Program held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The two-year-old shooting horse publication received 3rd Place Magazine Cover Page for the May/June 2008 cover featuring top competitor Kenda Lenseigne and an Honorable Mention for Open Color Editorial Photograph for an image in the March/April 2008 “The Art of (Being) Steve Thornton” feature.

“We are honored to be among the top equestrian publications to receive these honors,” says Western Shooting Horse magazine publisher, Ken Amorosano. “Credit goes to our team of photographers, writers and in house staff who all work together to make the magazine happen.”
Sixty-one AHP members were named finalists in the 2009 AHP Annual Awards Contest for material published in 2008. Participation in this year’s contest represented 111 AHP members and 816 entries. Twenty-five professional judges placed the classes and provided constructive critiques for all entries. Since its inception in 1974, the American Horse Publications Annual Awards Program has recognized excellence in editorial content and graphic design.
American Horse Publications is a non-profit professional association of more than 500 publications, individuals, and equine-related businesses dedicated to promoting better understanding and communication within the equine publishing industry.
Western Shooting Horse Magazine celebrates its two-year anniversary with its September/October 2009 issue.
